A single review written during a recent work experience placement.
With echoes of IDM pioneers and Warp label-mates Autechre, electro-wizard FlyLo’s latest track traverses much of the MIDI universe in three bleeping minutes. In an exciting continuation of the style of his recent album Cosmogramma, oddball computer game melodies overlap with drum and bass beats to show off the LA experimentalist’s spasmodic production values. Despite opening with what sounds like the electric organ of a cheap crematorium, ‘Kill Your Co-Workers’ quickly descends into the funkiest wake soundtrack imaginable. Granted, the funky cremation probably doesn’t have a place in civilised society, but this single might just make you wish it did.
